IR;Solution S gives reaction of sulfates 

freely soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol (96per cent).

Dissolve 5.0g in carbon dioxide-free water Rand dilute to 50Ml with the same solvent. Use within 2 h of preparation.

Solution S is clear and not more intensely coloured than reference solution Y6.
